Where do you live that permits chickens?

Malibu, CA-- lots over 15,000 sq ft may have up to 20 chickens per acre, housed 50 ft from all inhabited structures. No mention anywhere of roosters, so I'm going to assume that if you've got 20 chickens, you can be expected to have at least one rooster in the mix.

Here 10 chickens. You can have a rooster. Unless it is one that crows all the time. I know a lady that keeps a rooster in town. But her last one. She got rid of it. I guess it didnt know that it was the middle of night. And the darn thing never stopped crowing. YOu can keep them But if they make exessive noise. Then it is a noise violation. But regular morning crowing ok..

Our town just passed a law changing the pet laws. You can now own mini livestock. Goats, sheep, cows, horses, and pigs. Just as long as they are mini livestock. Ya self sufficient living. More and more towns are changing laws in favor of trying to take care of your family by raising your own food. I want to get a milk cow.. Mini of course.

Luckly I got lucky.. I live in a rural-ish area where you can spot farms every 20 miles.. depending on how big the farm is

I live in Islip NY not what you would call farm country. Chickens are allowed no limit .You can even keep chickens in New York City legally

Sage, California Limitless, cities in riverside cty, 4 hens per lot under 1/2 acre, no roos.

New York City, NY. Chickens are considered pets under the Health Code. Unlimited number of hens allowed; no roosters or other types of poultry. Code mentions cleanliness of chicken area must be kept clean.
San Francisco, CA. Up to four chickens allowed. Up to four small animals total. Keep 20 feet from doors or windows in a coop or enclosure of approved type Los Angeles, CA. Unlimited. Chickens may not be within 20 feet of owner's residence, and must be at least 35 feet from any other dwelling. Miami, FL. May have up to 15 hens, no roosters. Must be contained at least 100 feet from neighboring structures Chicago, IL. Can have unlimited number of chickens if use is only for pets or eggs; cannot have if use is to slaughter. Must be penned these are some pretty big "towns", most kinda "urban"

If they were a health hazard, people would be dropping like flies in hawaii . The chickens are every where. I'm in rural NY by the way. I've seen commercials on Saturday morning TV (State sponsored) promoting city chickens.

That sucks I hope you can get it cleared up.
I live in Michigan. From what I hear MI has the best right to farm acts on the books. So almost anyone in MI could get away with owning chickens if they sell the eggs.
I live in a rural area where there is a tun of people owning livestock.

I'm in the country. 5.5 acres. No rules here on chickens that I know of. (neighbor had a loud rooster and he was fine)
