I wanted to know where you all sttore your feed,,for your chickens/ducks ect? I have a separate shed that I keep the feed bins in,,but wondered if I can keep it in the coop building where the hens live? I just don't want to bring attention of any pests to the coop,so this is why I've kept the feed in a different place, but makes for a nuissance in feeding every morning! (going back and forth from the coop to the shed).
I use DE in the stainless steel bins to prevent any bugs..would it be ok to keep in the same building as my coop? thanks in advance,

I keep my feed inside the coop in a metal trash can. The floor is concrete so that helps keep it dry. Biggest challenge is rigging up something to keep them from roosting on the can lid.

Oddly enough I don't have rat problems living on a river side. Keep mine in a tote right next to the coop. The chipmunks do well gathering everything the chickens don't so don't find a need to chew up the plastic tote either. It's kinda fun watching the chipmunks making mad dashes into the run to gather feed, dodging the head blows and such. Even more fun when the chickens are free ranging.

I have a plastic trash can with a lid in the coop with the feed, and one in the run with scratch. Right now I also have another one in the barn with chick starter, next to the brooder tub. I need to invest in some metal cans for longer term storage. Currently I go to the feed store every two weeks, but I'd like to have at least that much stored for emergencies.

Ok,,I have the steel garbage cans as well,,they're expensive to buy,but worth it since it does last forever and keeps the mice and rodents out.
Thanks everyone! So I am off to move my tin cans to the coop :))
