last week I got 4 "midget white" turkeys. All seems well and they all get along well. They eat like champs are friendly and are just a blast to have. My hen is laying about an egg a day right now(which I feel should come to an end rather soon since I have read they are seasonal layers.)
Currently they are in a large pen with 5 foot welded wire around it and netting over the top so they can't fly out(my hen escaped once and wondered around my neighbors yard a few houses down from mine already)
My big question is where do your turkeys sleep? Do you lock them up at night? Let them roost outside?
Mine show no interest in sleeping inside. Even if I lock them in all they do is try and get out. Right now my hen and 2 poults will sleep on the roost outside and the male sleeps on the ground right next to them. Should I keep locking them up? Or should I cover the roost section with some plastic or tarp to keep the rain off of them?
My chickens go to bed each night on there own. I'm just not sure what to do about the turkeys.
