Where have all the hunters and trappers gone?

Some very well written post here and thankfully a lot of respect shown for others views.
My laugh of the day...

Know why there is a more violent reaction to people wearing fur than there is to people wearing leather?

Because people find it easier to harass rich women than confront motorcycle gangs!

When I was younger we trapped for extra spending money, I been hunting for a long time - started with a .22 Marlin bolt action rifle I got for my tenth birthday. (telling on myself here) It will be 37 years old this year, I still have it and it still shoots great! We live back in the woods so from our back door to the deer stand is about 200 feet. Life is good!

My first gun was also a .22..... and I still have it

Still shoots straight and is more reliable then the replacement I bought for it a few years back.

If it was legal, I could hunt right out of the upstairs bathroom window

My first was a double barrel 12 gauge. I had to kneel done to shot it while it was propted on the holder the guys built for me to go to turkey shoots with. A few other kids used it too. It was my grandfathers and I still have it. Still is a perfect shot only now I can hold it myself.

I don't shoot a gun but I have all intentions of learning. I may not be able to shoot but I can cook anything you bring in the kitchen.

Good advice to marry a hunter LOL. If I ever change my mind about marriage I will be sure to keep that in mind LOL.

I Love hunting and fishing - I never got into trapping. My wife only knows 2 seasons - Hunting season and fishing season! My kids have been raised with 80% of their meat meals being harvested by us! My daughter was actually making faces while eating tacos made with store bought beef hamburger

because it tasted funny to her - she had only eaten ground venison before that!
I have been blessed with a full freezer of venison every year and am very thankful that both my kids share my same love of the woods, and nature. Not to mention they have a great respect for animals and the great outdoors and an appreciation for each and every meal - they know where our food comes from!
