Very interesting! I wonder what's in there where Red Hen is going. She might be feeding on a dead body. Just kidding!

Can you spy on her while their free-range time? Then you can take pics on where that mysterious chicken is going or who is she meeting.....

* Anything noisy going on nearby when she bolts?? I just figured out that mine was going AWOL every Friday when the landscapers show up with blowers & trimmers to do the neighbor's yard!!

Have you tried following her? Do some PI work and you will find the answer.

I followed her as fast as I could down the hill, but it is steep at parts. Our land goes into a valley at one side, so she, of course, goes down the steepest part. I know the general area of where she is going, but I couldn't see her once I walked down a bit. She bolts when I open the coop door. I have kept the chickens in until after she lays in the morning, then she doesn't go down the hill when I open the door.
