Where is the strangest place your free range chicken has laid an egg?

My bantams favorite place to lay eggs while free ranging is in the goat house (where the hay goes). I've also found eggs in the garage (open cubies and a box of nails), underneath a fire log pile, and inside of a kayak.

This year I found a broody underneath a collapsed kidde slide.

We did not know she was up there until chicks started raining down on the driveway. As I recall, the dog ate a few and the hen walked off with the rest.

First time broody is in spider haven, I believe sitting on the Lazy Salmon Favs eggs. You can see a white egg just left of her head. She's going to finish there as I don't want to injure her.

Spider haven?!? No thank you, I mean she’s probably enjoying lots of snacks, but I’ll take the wagon with no spiders.

I forgot to mention she has been mia for a week now off and on. I don't know what she is doing but she is determined to stay there. I think she's a bit upset I found her. Not quite sure why the single egg is out from under her next to the fence line. Her feathers are all spread out. Does that mean they are getting ready to hatch?

@raingarden , I see your tree and raise you the rafters of a shop building. When she was done, she just flew down 15 feet to the cement floor and called. We caught .... most of them. It was not a great day.

Except for that, she was an exceptional mother. The big barn cat got a little too close and she literally rode him across the yard.
