I love Wyandottes, He is fab. Lucky you got his kids to pass his genes on.

Actually the chicks were just from a hatchery, that I was planning to breed him with when they got older. I actually have a broody hen with one little egg that may or may not hatch (I can barely see inside when I candle). If it does hatch, I am hoping and praying that he is the dad.

I have never had extra roosters to eat. Do you have to feed them up? Can we see some pictures of Bruce?

Oh yeah we feed them and they eat a lot, but that's why we don't give them away. Very few people will pay for a rooster, and we spent the money and time to feed them. They will return the favor by feeding us. Here's Bruce watching everyone off the ramp

Here he is after a terrible case of frostbite that's all healed with no attention from me

And here's one of his huge old rooster spurs and giant dinosaur feet. His feet give away his advanced age

Makes me glad he's such a people friendly rooster. He'll eat out of my hand, he ignores the dogs, doesn't fight with other roosters or a
Chickens and doesn't allow anyone else to fight either. He is totally not bothered by my sons having light saber fights all over the yard in the midst of the flock, or my daughter always trying to catch and hold the hens. He's so good with people and keeping fighting down. He would be dangerous if not so nice and unbothered by us. He Even hangs out with us when we are using power tools. Lol
