Where to buy and how to care for pigeons?

I was thinking on getting pigeons, I don't want anything fancy I just want two young pet pigeons. What would be the best cold hardy friendly breed?

Any breed of pigeon can handle the cold no problem, as long as they are protected from drafts. Check craigslist for some, there are always a few adds here and there. Check the farm and garden section for them.

I would recommend getting a book and reading it for care. I really don't want to type a book on here about care, so buying one is the best best option. here are my favorites:

umm. Yes, But they won't hang out with the chickens. they will just fly away from them. flying is risky. Always remember to train them, and Never fly a bird you an near to lose. if you need more help on training, just ask.

Why do you say that? they can free fly, and it's quite enjoyable for them and us!

I say that just because I know that they can actually fly away, where chickens usually have to land and you can scoop them up then
