Where to find find cornish cross chicks in winter

McMurray has them available Feb. 1st.
I'm on my second batch from them and have had great success. They are a little more expensive than some of the other hatcheries though.
My current batch will be going to freezer camp in 2 weeks.

Depends on the weather if they will even ship them even if they have them. After temps begin to drop it is against regulations for them ship live chicks through the mail. You may have to wait now until spring. If your temps are like ours in Central Va anything shipped at 1 day would die in this cold.

I'm not sure... I do know they use different boxes in the winter time to ship their broilers. A lot less holes....

I've ordered them with temps in the high 20's before and they did fine. It's amazing how rugged those peeps are, they take a lot of abuse before they settle into their brooder.

I didn't even know there was regulations? Next time I order I will have to ask them... I have a batch of pullets coming December 9th, 400 Sex-Links and 100 White leghorns. The temps the last two days have been freezing cold, yesterday morning we had an inch of snow on the ground. It didn't last long though.
