where to get call duck?

first time (indoor) duck owner here!

where in michigan (i’m willing to drive around four hours) can i get a baby, 1 day old, call duck. i want just one call duck to be an indoor pet. he will have plenty of attention. even if the place isn’t selling them yet, or have them hatched yet please tell me where (i’m probably waiting awhile, at least until quarantine is over)

also, where can i get a duck diaper that’ll fit a call duck? what kind of night time set up can i make him? will a kiddie pool work for swims once he is big and it’s summer time?

i know the mess they make and have researched how to care for indoor ducks, so please don’t tell me to get more than one ❤

Ducks dont do well alone, they should be housed with other ducks, not humans. Will you be able to provide him attention 24\7 ? ducks can live up to 10 years or more, thats a lot of commitment.

It's also going to be hard to find just one duckling, as most breeders will make you order more than one to prevent people from buying them as easter gifts and to prevent people just buying one, as house pets. Sorry, Ducks are wild creatures, they live much happier live's outside in a more natural enviorment.

I have had a duck live indoors, Mentally and physicaly he was completely fine, i got sick of washing towells everyday and going through rolls of paper towells and bottles of cleaner. Not one moment of his indoor life was cruel or sad, he didnt know any other life. Ultimately iam happier he is outside with some hens, ill admit he probably is too

it requires alot more attention than a cat, and a little less than a new born baby. Its possible but my recomendation is to get two ducks and start building a nice little outdoor house and covered run for them

at least one person will be, yes. i have had outdoor ducks before and have had other indoor birds. i’m prepared to take care of a duck as long as they live
