Where to get chicks now???

I am recently looking for 2 more chickens to add to our flock. We are looking for 2 silkies. This time of year it seems we can't find any hatcheries or breeders that are shipping now, most are aren't shipping until next year. We would like to have the chicks soon so we know how big we have to build our new chicken coop. If anyone knows where we could get 2 silkie chicks soon, as in this year, please tell us!

Winter isn't a good time to look for new birds or to have them shipped. The best chance you have is to look at local craigslist and you may be able to go pick them up.

You shouldn't need to have the birds to figure out how big to build your coop.

Ok thank you! I know I should probably have started a new thread for this but... My 2 barred rocks found little pieces of glass and they ate 2 pieces about 3 millimeters big. I'm wondering if I need to do something or just wait for the glass to "pass". If you know anything please tell me!

Where are you located? I have two chicks I am debating whether to keep or not (one white, one black, one week old). I'm near Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
