    Hi,
thanks for veryone's help. i am now having a really hard time finding a source to buy ivermectin for my chicken. any online resource suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

and, my local animal control just told me that a bird will not exhibit signs of illness until they are very very ill and putting her down may be the best thing i can do for her. thoughts? she has been sick for about 12 days and i will have to order ivermectin in hopes it will treat her sickness.

    Here you go:

I'd recommend buying it at a feed store as a paste for worming horses, don't know what the dosage would be though. It would be A LOT cheaper than buying it online and you wouldn't have to wait. I think they also make a topical form of it for cattle.

Do you know what type of worms? Specific wormers are usually only geared toward a specific type of worm. Have you thought about Wazine instead? I think I remember reading somewhere here on BYC that if a bird has a heavy worm load you should start with Wazine. If they are weak, the worming can kill them. See if you can get some strength back in her before you try worming her. Try putting some electrolytes in her water and some power boosting snacks.

If you use the search function here on BYC you'll find the dosage for the paste as well as some really good advice.

Here's a link for specific types of worms:
