Hello there,

I'm new to the world of guineas and was curious as to where to look for purchasing them besides just at the local feed store or what not. Any websites or communities out there that are a good resource for buying them? Adults are preferred but chicks are doable.

stay away from Lancaster fancy fowl . I ran a want add on craigslist and had keets in hrs. of the post and they were local

Shipment of eggs or keets is always stressful and sometimes fatal, try to get them local and if you have to drive a bit it is worth it. Check your local paper online or farmers market.

I agree that you should try to find them locally. Most hatcheries require a minimum order of 30 guinea keets. And the shipping is very hard on them. A want ad on Craig's List should work wonders in the farm and garden section. That's where a lot of people, including me, sell their excess poultry.

You really should try to get babies or 6 week old young guineas if you can. Adults can often be hard to keep in a new surrounding unless they are confined 4 to 6 weeks. They can and will easily fly away.

I was just looking for them yesterday, and every major purchasing site had a minimum of 15 keets, with the cheapest being about $3.50 each. I found a breeder about an hour away by doing a Craigslist search, and made the drive last night to purchase 4 keets at $5 each.

Good luck!

Warning - they are like tater chips..... can't have just a few. :D
