Where to send my chickens- Salem Oregon

Hi all, I have had my hens for about 5 years this has been a rough year with sickness and raccoons loosing quite a few girls. Currently I have one hen with a broken leg and one who is not laying anymore. Does anyone have suggestions on where I can take the hens to butcher? I can't come to do it myself and I am not paying $100 to euthanize. Any suggestions would be great thanks!

If you don't want the meat yourself you can post an add on CL for stew hens and give them away. Alternatively, the local wildlife rescues/rehab centers often take donations such as this in order to feed their carnivorous charges. You might also reach out to Heart 2 Heart Farms (you can find them on FB) - they offer on site butchery classes and may be open to taking the birds for that *or* be able to direct you to someone that can provide the service you are looking for.

Another potential "taker" for the birds would be someone looking or RAW diet ingredients for their dogs -- again, posting on FB, etc is a great way to find someone who wants the birds for the meat.
