I was feeding the baby in the highchair with the news on in the background. Hubby was sleeping because he was working nights at that time. The breaking news came on...it was horrible.

I like the old saying, "worry is like a rocking chair...it gives you something to do but it doesn't get you any where."

That's why I live in the country where I can see 'm coming. CLICK-CLICK. Would be better than woodchucks and prairie dogs. Too bad about that nuclear power plant 15 miles NW of me. The security is good though, I've experienced it firsthand on the river when I fished a little too close!
I like that hope for the best, prepare for the worst comment. Words to live by.

If we're gonna get hit despite the best preparations to prevent, we'll just have to deal with the consequences and frankly hit back harder. These people only understand brute force. Until it becomes too painful to attack us they will persist in their attempts.

I was at home, getting ready for work. My dh was at the firestation and I had turned on the news. I called him after I realized what was going on and I remember asking him if he thought there were firefighters in the towers. Then the first one fell, and he said yes, and I could hear the other guys at the station in the background yelling. Guess where he is today? At the firestation again.

What a truly horrible day.

was in the UK,at a huge shopping centre called the trafford centre,if remember correctly it was the largest mall in europe of its time.
had gone there with family early so we had no idea about what had happened till sister saw an ex workmate sometime during afternoon-evening and she told us about it.
it felt very weird,was unable to think of anything else,ie; how coud people do such a thing to innocent people.
we even wondered if it was going to be a world wide attack as we were very vulnerable inside a place which has been seen as a viable option for terrorists.
that was quite possibly one of the last times had gone to the mall though thats nothing to do with what happened/terrorism.


had watched some of the memorials this morning on the BBC-the big water fall/pond thing looks awesome but the place just looks so empty and sterile now.
they shoud have rebuilt the twin towers to flip terrorists the middle finger.
