(tractor supply company)... wasn't self explanitory at all.. lol.. o jeez one of those days.. thank you for specifying!... My wonderful hubby wants to buy locally, and maybe I am being too particular but I would rather only get chicks that I know are 100% what I am ordering... At least for my first go at chickens..
I got my EE's from Tractor Supply, along with the CornishX and my Silkies from Cackle. I have an order of bantam Wyandottes coming in a couple weeks from Purely Poultry, hope that goes as well as the Cackle order did. I only lost one Silkie out of the lot of them, and since they popped 2 extras in, I still have more than paid for! They came a day early, which was good and bad. Good in that I was SO excited. Bad in that the brooder was not ready yet.
Most of Mine came from IFA, and MPC. Got 10 from a breeder this year, first group of straight runs and I'm not happy...only 4 are pullets and they are not what I ordered. I will stick with IFA and MPC from now on!
Just got an order of 15 hens and 2 rooster EE earlier this month from Cackle. Everyone is still alive and doing well. One roo and 2 hens went to a coworker, and are doing ok too.
The rest of my flock is from TSC(tractor supply company) and cackle. We just have a mixed flock for our own egg and meat use.(sex links, production, silkies, wyndotte, EE, orps, sumatra and pheonix)
I got my first batch of chickens from a small animal auction held weekly near where I live. I had 2 EE's at first, but now I'm down to one since a cat caught and killed my one when she escaped the run. I got my group of chicks 2 weeks ago from TSC, they are silkies.
I have 15 EE pullets coming from meyer hatchery on wednesday!!! I cannot wait! I love those puffy faces and colored eggs! Good luck with your new flock!
