Hello everybody, I have been browsing this site for a while but I am a new poster. I have 7 RIR that i got from an Amish family. One of them doesn't have tailfeathers like the others. Does anybody know why?

I have a pic but I don't know how to upload it here.

Look at the blue menu bar under the forum name -- you'll see a link for "Uploads". Click on that, there should be instructions to help you complete the process.

Between the
tags, all you want is the URL starting with http:// and ending with .jpg (or whatever the file designation). Everything else gets in the way.

WOW doesn't even look like it was plucked out... Can't help with this but someone on here will be able to. She's really pretty...

Have a great New Years Eve day, Cindy

Rumpless -- doesn't even have the tail bone. I had one of those in my hatch last year. It's a standard trait in the Araucanas and Manx Rumpless -- I assumed mine was the result of an Araucana roo sneaking in with the Delaware hens. I don't know where your RIR would have come up with it.

From Feathersite:
Rumplessness is a genetic defect which appears occasionally. In the true rumpless condition the last vertebra (or, unofficially, the "parson's nose") is missing. These sports have appeared in various breeds. The only chicken in the US Standard of Perfection wherein this is a breed characteristic is the true Araucana.
