Great job. I did see two places where you refered to your mother; you called her mom or mother, not my mom or my mother, so they should be capitalized. (Sorry, can't help myself!) It makes me wish we had a feed store full of chicks right now. I wonder if it will persuade anyone who reads it to get chicks for the first time??
