Whey as a replacement for soy in feed

Hello,

I'm really interested in creating my own feed for my chickens that is soy free and have been starting some research. We have a connection to organic goat whey-in abundance. Is this a good enough substitute for soy in homemade chicken food?

I don't have experience with whey but thought these links might help you.

You can see my BYC page for what I do for feed. Just make sure you don't let anything get moldy as moldy feed can kill them. You might do a BYC search too to see if you can find similar threads until someone can help you out.

Hi! I can't say anything for replacing the soy, but we make our own cheese and the chickens love crumble soaked in whey. Good luck!
