Breed:
How many hens of that breed have you owned?
How many eggs a week?
How big of eggs?
How well do they lay in winter?
How often did they go broody? (thus halting egg production)
Hardiness: (sick chickens don't produce well)
Personality? (just for fun, and because most people who want banties to lay well, want them as pets!)
Common or harder to find?

I copied the above form.

I am looking for a good egg laying breed that will lay year round. I'do prefer a harder to find breed. One that won't really go broody and very hardy.

Please share your expieriences and opinions. I know it's a lot. Thanks you!

Breed: Sebright (hatchery variety, as these are hardier)
How many hens of that breed have you owned?: Just one
How many eggs a week?: In her prime she gives around 5-6 a week that I notice
How big of eggs?: Bigger than my OEGBs, but still bantam sized
How well do they lay in winter?: I don't quite remember, but I think she laid a few eggs during that time
How often did they go broody? (thus halting egg production): Once a year for my single hen, though I've heard that isn't very common in sebrights
Hardiness: (sick chickens don't produce well): She can take to below zero temperatures and above 100 temperatures, as well as both dry and moist climates
Personality?: She isn't mean towards me, but she is aggressive as all out can be. She killed another hens chicks and she is very protective of her chick. She is high in position, even above many of the standard hens
Common or harder to find?: Sebrights are fairly common, but not as common as OEGBs or other bantams like that. They are on the Watch list of the Livestock Conservancy

Beauty, my sebright, with Ellesar the rooster and a white hen

I've owned many bantams :D

Breed: Easter Egger Bantam
How many hens of that breed have you owned? 3

How big of eggs? Small, you wont be getting large eggs from bantams ^^;
How well do they lay in winter? 4-5 but she was our younger hen too, so not sure!
How often did they go broody? so far outta our 2 hens, only once
Hardiness: Never had a sick bird ^^
Personality? Cuddly, Talkative, and over all cuties, but watch out some are bearded some arent'!
Common or harder to find? Fairly common I believe

Breed: Old English Game Bantam

How many eggs a week? 3-4 (one doesnt lay yet ^^;)
How big of eggs?Double the size of their head but they're tiny XD
