I'm sorry folks weren't nicer.

Mine won in spite of me not because of me. I didn't have a clue what I was doing, I've only had chickens since April. Thanks for the tips on beak trimming, I did trim them a little.

Now I can't wait till they lay so I can hatch some more.

Pullet Pimp, don't worry, it's not just in your area that they are snobby. When I started out I could not find anyone to help me understand what needed to be done.

It was all done by trial and error in the beginning and you know? I still go by that method to this day. Nobody can tell you what's best for you and for your setup.
