which breed do i have any idea

isnt its an easter egger

Hi laeeq aslam!

On BYC, many of the folks trying to help tell you figure out what breed of chicken you have are from foreign lands, such as the US, and they are not familiar with the type of breeds not from their country. Even the same breed from different countries can look different--Orpingtons being one example, so it is most helpful to get information from locals when possible.

It is very unlikely that the chickens you have are Easter Eggers. Easter Eggers are cross bred chiclkens that have some Araucana or Ameraucana in their ancestry. They usually lay blue eggs, have willow(green)-colored legs, a beard and muffs and a pea comb. Yours do not show any of these signs. What's more, since these breeds are from the US, it is very unlikely they have been imported in to Pakistan.

Wikipedia lists these breeds from Pakistan:

I did a quick search for chicken breeds in Pakistan and did not turn up many resources for you. Here is one resource that lists a few breeds: http://www.uaf.edu.pk/golden_jubile...egnous Chicken Breeding Policy by S Ahmad.pdf

The Desi is one they say is a non-descript ( generic-looking, or has a variety of different looks). I found other references for Desi goats. I suspect that Desi is a common name for a village fowl or animal or what we would call over here in the states as 'barnyard mix'. They most likely have several different breeds in them and over time have developed their own look (for more information, look up landrace breeds for a definition of this kind of genetic selection and breed type-- this chicken breed may be a kind of landrace breed common in Pakistan). The reason I think this is that you have said that everyone has this breed and it is common in your area. I suggest that you talk to some of the people that own the birds and see what they call them. Perhaps ask them if they are Desi chickens.

I may be off-base on my statements as I am making some assumptions. I am just trying to help figure out your puzzle. More information about the chickens you are showing us would be very helpful. Please let us know if you find any information from the local owners! Good luck!

These hens are locally called Misri (Egyptions) i dnt know whether it has any links with egypt or not they are layers they never become broody after regularly giving eggs for 1-2 years they totally become egg less and donot further lay any eggs There hens may sometimes look like Marans but they donot give dark brown eggs but instead small light brown egg if crossed with broody chicken they may become broody but are not good

I am also from pakistan. I am also in search of the accurate name for the breeds we have in pakistan. After alot of search i am confused that we may have Golden campine that we call golden here in pakistan and egyption fayoumis that we call misri or egyptian but that is just my realization i am still not sure

Yup that one you are saying is a golden campine is definitely right. I live in Pakistan too and I have one just like that.

When I found out that mine was a golden campine I was surprised as well that how could a cold North Belgium breed be here in hot Pakistan. But now I think campines may have been imported here long ago and have become quite common here OR they might be a Pakistani version of the breed and no one ever researched on them as Pakistan is VERY underdeveloped and those here who keep chickens are mostly ignorant villagers.anyway they somehow got here. I wonder what other rare old chicken breeds are here that the world doesn't know about.

I bought this hen about a month ago with several others. The lady told me she and three others were Rhode Island Reds but I think she may have grabbed this one by mistake because she doesn't look like the others and she has an extra toe. I thought maybe she was a Dorking but her coloring is different from other Dorking's I've seen. Thanks.

I apologize if I have posted this in the wrong place. I just found from another post that this my be considered hijacking a post. I was unaware if this was for a single instance. I misunderstood and thought it was for anyone wondering what breed they had. Please ignore this post. If I could figure out how to remove it I would. Thanks.
