Yes they advertise them as Araucanas or Ameraucanas, but only a couple of hatcheries actually sell true Ameraucanas. The chicks are priced at $15-$20 per chick. I have not heard of a hatchery that sells Araucanas yet.
So, rest assured, if you paid $3 per chick, you got Easter eggers. There is nothing wrong with Easter eggers, I have a coop full of them.
