Which breed next?

Hatchery Wyandottes, Gold and Silver Laced specifically, CAN look totally different then what you are expecting too. My little splash blue laced red is mostly solid red, very little lacing, and the lighter color is white. Just a few heads up because after I read I realized hatchery stock is not bred for appearence. I am fine with that though my 'ugly duckling' Wyandotte is the sweetest thing around

I would look at Easter Eggers. There is a thread here with chick vs adult pictures and it's wonderful. They have a ton of variaty, are good layers and are standards. Mine is very friendly and sweet.

I did a lot of reading before I got my chickens because I was thinking of the wyandotttes, but they are to aggresive and pick on the other breads that are timid like the orpingtons,so no wyandottes for me,they are beautiful to look at but you have to think of the rest of the flock,so do some research on all the ones you want and then decide.

I hope you don't mind me hijacking your thread. But I'd be interested in opinions on my flock. I can't get any more birds until I build another coop, so not until next year at the earliest, but I spend hours on this site and others dreaming of expanding my flock. I have the birds listed in my signature line. I am currently thinking the next birds I will add will be Barnvelders (I know many of them don't may dark eggs, but I like their looks), Exchequer Leghorns and Norwegian Jaerhons (or maybe Golden Campines). I have about 8 other breeds after that I am interested in. My goal is a colorful flock & a colorful egg basket.

As far as your breeds, I would pick the Barred Rocks, but that's just my personal preference. They are on my list of possibilities.
