I get it, Last July I lost all but one of the six I ordered, I only got out of bed to tend to Tess (the surviving one) Three days I was down. That is the reason I went with the pullet orders. I have all of the stuff to set up a nice brooder for chicks so I ordered extra.

Yes I don't think sometimes people understand that they're not always "just a chicken" they become part of the family and are mourned just like a dog or cat. It's especially hard when they're so young all you want to do is give them a nice life and you feel so bad when they pass

I just got off the phone with My pet chicken, They suffered a high loss rate in this week shipping orders. The sweet gal on the phone was clearly very emotional. So apologetic. When you do decide give them a look see.

I definitely will I already have some birds in the cart on mpc and Meyers so you can see I can't wait. I wonder why the bad rate this week?

I know people don't understand as I lost a girl to Cocci this early spring. It ended up being a joke behind my back at work. This is why am on this site. Everyone understands and are so helpful. we can post a problem and within minutes there are people ready to help.

Same reason I came here. I don't know any in-person people who have chickens so it's hard to talk to people about this because they don't really understand, when I come here I feel like people understand what I'm talking about and why it hurts. I'm so sorry people joked about that behind your back it's definitely not a joking matter. If you lost a house pet or a horse or something like that it would be like people coming up to you and constantly saying they're sorry I don't understand why people are different with chickens.

Neither do i. The only people who understand me is my 4-H chicken group, thats it. Chickens are considered to be derpy, disgusting, useless egg poopers and meat holders. The stereotype on chickens is just so strong and its so sad to see them be treated and talked up to be like this.

I know I jokingly like to claim that I'm a chicken's right activist LOL but seriously people are so rude about chickens, they are intelligent to me and I love watching how they interact and do stuff together. I wish more people understood this my chickens produce eggs and I eat them (the eggs Not the birds) but they aren't considered producers in my family they are considered pets who have an added bonus of eggs

The eggs are in high demand. They will be soon giving the back yard chicken raiser more respect.
