which breed would you choose, i have 1 lonely hen that needs friends

well after my duck was attacked by a coon or opos during the night, then a few days later my rooster decided that 4 am was a good time to do his call, later that day the inlaws dispatched and dressed him for dinner, so i am down to my 1 single cuckoo cross pullet, and i wanted to add atleast 1 more if not 2 but reading up on the breeds she ha si want to add more lol i really like them all especially the mottled mottled houdan

Well, 4am is a not unusual time for a rooster to crow, so what assurances do you have that you'll be able to keep the next one from being all dressed up?

because i am not getting roosters i am getting hens, and it wasnt that it was 4 in the morning in is that our ordinance says we cant have roosters and we already had 2 neighbors complain but i kept making my inlaws deal with it till it did this usually it was at like 6:30 or 7, but this one morning it was super early and i couldnt stop them, as it is their house, but this is a whole diff story this is about which breed has the best characteristicks

Out of the chickens listed in the ad, I'd go with the buff orpingtons (gentle birds and probably easier to integrate with your lonely hen) - the cuckoo maran would be my second choice. The orps & marans are probably the best layers out of the bunch, as long as they are still young. Make sure you ask about the age of the hens you end up purchasing.
