Which breed?

Are we thinking barred rock pullet or cuckoo maran pullet? I got her as a baby at the end of April! Thanks y'all!

Agree with The Phantom. Looks more like a cuckoo Marans. If you really want to know, catch her and check the skin color under her feet. If it is white or pinkish white, then likely a Marans. If yellowish, then a barred rock.

Her legs look a little dark for both breeds, actually, but that will probably mostly fade as it grows. However, if you bought this bird from a backyard breeder and not a hatchery or feed store, the leg color could indicate a mixed breed.

Okay. Those places don't usually sell mixed breeds, so it's likely a Marans.

I looks a lot like a marans. Barred Rocks, unless they are low quality hatchery ones (or junk as I would call them since I am a very particular Plymouth Rock breeder), are evenly barred.

They also have a stockier stature.
