Which breeds of Roosters to put over DP hens to make a good meat chicken?

Love the chick pics! I know I am going to be experimenting a little myself, but do not plan on doing any separate cage breeding - so it is going to be a guessing game as to who is the sire of the chicks!

Here is a pic of the black broiler we kept out of the group we butchered. He was the most colorful. He is 18 weeks old today (we call him Copper) and is looking good! If he doesn't get too big and his health stays good, I may keep him :)

He doesn't have any spurs - just little bumps! But he is starting to act like a rooster, tellin the hens when he finds food and he is starting to show an interest in the girlies!

Just wanted to re-update my original thoughts on the subject-- by saying that we have now added White Cornish to our place.

These white Cornish aren't quite according to the SQ type of Cornish, as they are a litle softer feathered, and quite honestly have a little big of the broiler look to them. The softer feather comes from a little bit of Brahma being in their background-- about 1/8. The remainder is quality White Cornish blood.

I need one of those kfacres! That would be exactly what I am hoping to get. I don't know if you ship chicks? Or even eggs - I have never stuck eggs under a broody before, but I have a buff orpington broody right now (I keep telling her she needs to wait until next spring then I will get her some chicks! LOL).

If you do happen to have any for sale, let me know, or I can wait until you do. :)
