What's your thinking behind the zebu Jersey?

Something small and manageable, she's got some good meat on her bones and zebu seem to really thrive in my area. She also comes pregnant and with a heifer calf. The jersey is more of a concern for me because if milk fever and the mass amount of feed necessary to keep a production animal like that from keeling over and dying

Are you set on a jersey, then? You could go for a Guernsey or a shorthorn. They both thrive on pasture.

That's not even freezing temps yet! You don't even have to wear a coat in that weather. A sweater is plenty.
