Initially I put him under her and then waited to see what she would do. When he came out and started peeping cuz he was cold, she started clucking at him and opening her wings, trying to get him to go back under her.
She makes me feel bad I didn't let her go broody last year! I broke her twice. I just assumed cuz she's a production breed that she wouldn't be a great mom but she's really proving me wrong.

Forearm can be a bit uncomfortable…..thigh not as bad but can look more weird with extreme weight changes……ankle was worst for meI want one on my arm. Multiple actually lol and thigh. Please say forearm and thigh don’t hurt

Honestly. The best hatches I've had have been when I forgot them in the incubator and didn't move them to the hatcher. So the humidity didn't get raised and they were still being turned or upright, not on their sides. For some reason, they tend to shrink wrap or hatch sticky in the hatcher.
My Orpington hens can be a bit weird about different chicks being different colors also.
