A HELMET???I wore a safety helmet and face shield![]()
HoldA HELMET???
It would probably be fine whichever you decide, whether to bring her a friend or not. Either way, she will likely be confused and afraid because it's something different and unknown.I'm so bummed you guys, I spent all morning looking for an avian vet because of course, I think one of my bigger chicks has a dislocated wing? IDK if something could have just happened, or if it's maybe been like this for a while and I didn't notice or realize? It's not dragging on the ground or anything, just slightly drooping and her shoulders look uneven.
At any rate, I feel like such a horrible chicken mama right now, because I'm afraid maybe I could have hurt her by handling her wrong? Or "allowing" my daughter to open the crate (even though I tell her repeatedly not to open it without me). I don't want to have to LOCK the brooder, but she knows how to open it and she likes to go in and look at (grab) the chickies. Most of the time, she does actually pick them up properly, but I'm just worried about the odd squeeze, or drop, or if I could have somehow hurt her myself...I tried to wrap the wing up gently, but that didn't go so well. I finally got an appointment tomorrow morning an hour away.
Question: Should I bring her pal so she is not scared and alone for the car ride? She is bonded to this one other chicken.
She's cute. This would have been a great glamour shot if I hadn't cut her tail out of the frame. Note the down showing underneath her wingtip.![]()
