I don't stack birds and I will only hatch the best of the best. I save the space I have for the most deserving.
Except for Rona. She's the duck nanny.

It is fine that you don't have boys around. For me, to have one around provides endless hours of entertainment. Watch him strut around the yard doing his thing. I also have 3 roosters too to keep the hens company*practical*

Uphill! Barefoot! In the snow! Both ways!Amen to that!
All are pansies! Last winter at my folk's place in the mountains it got to -27F and my place was at -18F. Winter is 4-5 months long depending where you live in the area. Snow can start falling in October, stay in November and not fully melt until May. I only have wood heat for the house and live in a log cabin that has little insulation. A couple of feet of snow sticks around for at least 2-4 months. Pipes can freeze in the winter. When I lived with my folks.. pipes froze for 5 months solid and had to carry water from the cistern that was about 1/8th of a mile to get water to the house... for 5 months until the pipes thawed. Bunch of pansies!
Not quite. It's up hill one way.. only been barefoot once uphill... had to walk up the hill because my car got stuck and I was wearing high heels. So I took them off.. boy that was cold.Uphill! Barefoot! In the snow! Both ways!
