Which BYC member scares you?

I have been so cold and so stiff I thought there was no way I was going to be able to work my way down the tree. I wondered if I just go ahead and step off if I would shattered like ice when I hit the ground. Would it be better if they found me that way instead of froze solid in the tree? 🤔
Scariest for me was a couple years ago when we had a huge ice storm Thursday before rifle season and I climbed my fixed stand……trees were snapping and falling everywhere.

Do people just not bow hunt from the ground?
That’s where my big butt comes in handy 🤣
Mine is boney! I'd have to bring something soft to sit on.

That is scary. So, one time I was in the tree and all of a sudden I hear this loud cracking over my head. I look up and this “huge” limb was breaking and it looked like it was could come straight down on me. I had my safety harness on or might would have jumped. I just watched as it broke lose and came crashing down and zoomed by me like a foot or two in front of my tree stand foot rest. I stayed calm but then got to thinking about it after and decided to get down and go home 😂 I had never had that happen before or even thought of it happening.

Sure as heck has. But, I have give her kudos for still sitting in a tree in the woods instead of sitting in a heated apartment over looking a deer resort greenfield like most do it now.
Like me? 🙈

I get the difference of opinion. My husband doesn’t even like to hunt because it isn’t that much of a challenge where we are and the way we have things set up. But we do it for meat, because he has a heart condition and it is so much healthier than most of what you can get in the grocery store. i actually love watching them for hours while we wait for the specific ones we have decided to take to show up, which are almost always spikes or obvious culls, to help improve the bloodlines of what is out there. Not like some of our neighbors whom are determined to get the biggest buck they see.

As for bait, I have never understood why that is different from hunting by a crop they love or under an oak tree with acorns everywhere that they always show up at. But I know people have lots of different opinions about hunting, including those who think it is cruel and should be illegal. So I try to be accepting, or at least tolerant, if all of them.

Ive hunted just about every way…..ground with or without blinds, ladder stands, fixed stands, elevated blinds, etc……comfiest is definitely my summit climber. Last tx trip I stalked my hog with bow for over 8 hours before I went back to camp and grabbed my rifle
