I also played baseball, softball, water polo, badminton, and volleyball. And I was a cheerleader for 2 basketball seasons and the school mascot my senior year.I loved track. As a football player you were really required to be part of the track team, or at least most of us were. Coach would just tell you that you were on the track team. I would have anyway. I even pole vaulted for them because we didn't have anyone else that would, and not very high. I remember at a track meet against our biggest rival they had a high jumper that set the State record. He was high jumping 3 feet less than we wer pole vaulting.
But, I played sports year around. It was football, baseball, basketball, track and the seasons would run into each other. The coaches were all the same ones, though, so they worked with us on it. Head football coach was head baseball coach. Head basketball coach was Defensive Coordinator on football. Secondary football coach was head track coach.
Baseball was my best sport. I played every position at sometime through the years, but mostly SS and 2nd. I got a scholarship to play at community college (then call Jr. college). I didn't have enough size to go further, or at least wasn't good enough to make up for the lack of size to go further. Good times and memories. I would love to go do it all again and still have fun but be more serious with it at the same time.
No worries. It's incredibly hard to offend me about that stuff. Prefer He, but She works tooNo offense. I did think you were a girl, and I still do. I just wasn't thinking. Things are so different now days than they used to be. I get lost sometimes![]()
