You should try going into the store now on black Friday. You will do what I wanted to do today: You will walk in, see the people, and back out.

Ours is the largest in the area, right off the highway, and is the only one in our state to be employed by people who are not drug addicts. We get everyone from around the state, and by many people from surrounding states because we do not have sales tax on our products.

I could not even tell which line was mine at lunchtime. They were snaking through the department and down the Action Aisle, and everyone needed every cage in the department unlocked so they could try to choose which expensive product was cheaper.

I am going in tomorrow and asking my boss if I can have off next Black Friday. I mean, a year's notice is enough time to request it, right?

I actually love my job.

On a normal day, my customers are usually polite, friendly, courteous, and will joke with me while I am helping them work the bipolar photo kiosks or trying to close a temperamental cage. Occasionally, you get a prick, and I can usually throw them to my boss and watch her chew them apart; when I can't throw them her way, I know that the praise I have gotten from customers will far outweigh any complaint they give if I mouth off to them.

I am a people person. No, really, I am! But I cannot handle the absurd amount of rude, thoughtless people when they come out in droves as they do on holidays.

I hear that a lot. I would not think that a lot of people would like it. Yes, I complain about it when I need to vent; but if I leave, I would miss it terribly. My colleagues are some of the best people I have ever met, my boss is firm but fair, and she acts just like my sisters and I, and I love the work in general. A lot of my customers have become repeat customers, and they know my name and zero in on me when they come in.

Although, I could do without injuries that I acquire there that last a week. I do not know what I did last Sunday before clock-out, but my knee is twice its usual size and painful; which is contributing to my b!tchiness.
