Not for us. Even though meat prices are going up, I looked at conventional chicken at the store the other day and it was still far cheaper than what we spend raising ours. We just care about how the chickens are raised and what they eat. We spend a lot of money on feed.Is it more economical to raise your own meat birds?
I'm so jealous that you are able to do this. If I brought home meat chickens, I think my hubby would snap. He would help me butcher them because he loves me, but he wouldn't be happyNot for us. Dang, I wish you were closer so it would be workable. I would totally come over and do a butcher day with you.I'm so jealous that you are able to do this. If I brought home meat chickens, I think my hubby would snap. He would help me butcher them because he loves me, but he wouldn't be happy

How long will that last you once they're all processed?Today is chick day! I just picked up 200 meaties from the post office.
Do you need name suggestions?Today is chick day! I just picked up 200 meaties from the post office.
I have some. Fried, nuggets, grilled, cordon-bleu, pot pie...Do you need name suggestions?![]()
Me too. It’d take me like a month to butcher 100 birds. I have zero help when it comes to butchering, and with every bird I like to dissect their organs.I'm so jealous that you are able to do this.
