Me and my 6 year old have watched Encanto at least 6 times.

Encanto was really well done IMO. Plus Dolores and Camillo are adorable.

I made mine watch it. Also made him watch Turning Red. Told him it was educational

I made those mistakes with #1 and #2 and all it did was lead them to resent things. with the last 2 we push them, but we don't force them and it's working out better for us. They're more open to considering things after thinking about it for a bit, and we find they get more out of it if they come in willingly. I'm not saying this is every parent/kid relationship and I would not presume to tell anyone how to raise their child processes. This is just what's working for us (today).

Green Acres is dumb. I will probably let them watch Bonanza when they're older and can follow plots better.
My husband is very anti-screen
time. And I am too, but I'm the one who's home with them all the time so I would probably let them watch it more often if it was up to me.

I don't exactly police what she watches, but I do. That doesn't make much sense.

We watch any kind of nature shows, anything made for kids that isn't dumb, and she likes watching Minecraft videos on YT.

Oh I rarely do that. Most things he goes along with. Turning Red was just funny because he was complaining the whole time "13 year old girls aren't like that!!" Ah, yes child, yes they are
