They're not over your shoulders. You put it on like a belt with the clasp in front. Then spin it around and flop it up and put the straps on.

I prefer 2 hooks to 3 or to some of those complicated s-clip things. One deft finger sweep and voila!

I just line everything up in the front, straps over my shoulders, reach my arms back and clasp it. Takes 2 seconds.
Or I fall asleep with it still on and don't have to bother.
