I hate crocs. I had a pair once and absolutely could not stand walking in them.

The only crocs I own are used for crayfish hunting. And no, I don't eat them. It's catch and release

I own four sets of shoes that I use on a semi-regular basis: Regular boots (for chicken stuff and going anywhere that isn't church), sneakers (sparingly used during the summer and when my mom fusses at me for wearing my heavy boots everywhere), church shoes ( for church in every season except for but sometimes including summer), and church sandals (for church in the summer).
There are two pairs of crocs floating around the house, and I steal whichever pair is handy when I just want to skitter outside for a while.

Crocks must be a regional thing. They wear them out here a bit, but it's a bit more rural and relaxed. I like to wear them when working in the garden and stuff, that way just turn the hose on and rinse half the dirt /mud off so you don't track it into the house only to mess up your shower. Not to mention, with free ranging chickens, barefoot can be... unpleasant.

Ill wear them with socks if I know I may be fuddling around in fire ant territory. Trust me, those socks can keep the ants off you long enough to hose them off before they start stinging you. usually once a month ill go on an ant hunt and do that because you hit it with a shovel then poison it then move on. I used to u se that fireant killer but since i got chickens I have to just use boric acid. It's slow but works eventually.

Why do I wear crocks and not regular shoes? Because I don't want chicken sh1t in the threads of my good shoes. if you get on the crocks, you turn the garden hose on them, they are clean.. can't do that too many times with real shoes before you wreck them.

when good socks get ripped or ragged on top, they turn into outside socks.
when they get too dirty/ dingy to really wear, then they turn into truck wash cloths, you put a sock on your hand, dunk it in hot soapy water and it's great for washing down the truck /car, whatever. RedNeck Engunearing 101

Hillbilly? Really?
No hillbilly would ever own let alone wear crocs. Wouldn't happen. I don't even let people wearing them on my property.
White trash? Ya maybe the moo moo wearing type that only buys socks at the flea market white trash but not the self respecting type.
