I’m sure I would hate it, but I think I’d be ok with switching to metric as far as building things. The downside would be having no mental reference whatsoever. If you say something is 12 feet, I know how long that is. I can envision that. If you start rolling out meters and all that nonsense… do you even have anything close to a foot??
30 cm give or take.

You're not a true space pirate ya land lubber.

Every nut, bolt, and fastener on those missions is metric...

Interestingly, all the computer guidance was also metric for the calculations, BUT, was displayed in feet/miles/nautical miles for the crew because as pilots, that's what they were used to and understood. Here's a neat article about that,

This concludes my nerd talk. Please tip your servers. :p

I know this is all meant in the spirit of fun, but American egocentralism is one of those things that really pisses me off. If you want to keep believing that the apollo missions didn't rely on the assistance from numerous other counties, especially Canada, you go right ahead. But that kind of shyte mentality is what makes a lot of us want to

And now I'm going to go eat ice-cream and put my phone away for a while.

I'm sorry. I do love my country, but I never mean to make anyone sick of us.
It's all a joke to me, I don't actually hate the metric system, in many ways it's useful.
