Which BYC member scares you?

Oh the stories I could tell.

Some of my favourites include the person who called into work saying they couldn't come in because their cat was having her kittens on their chest.

Also, the boyfriend who called saying his girlfriend was really sick and shouldn't be at work so could I please call her and tell her to come home? *This after she already tried to get out work by calling in "sick" to her supervisor*

She asked. Then I spent 20 minutes going through my process with her. :p
Crazy Lady got into a discussion with a cat about a bath that the cat didn't want. Scarred her wrists a bit. Lovely conversation starters. 😬 She had the cat and the cat had her. She's had more than one person ask about her mental state.

I do to. I mean, who gives cats a bath? Even if you are getting paid for it.

Oh!! And then there was the guy who showed up to a hiring fair with a beer. Classy
Merry Christmas GIF

My current company really cares about their people and tries to help them work through stuff. To get fired one really has to be a dumb@$$. Like showing up to work with an active contagious disease (when your job is to care for vulnerable individuals) and lying about it for 4 days. 😠
Yeah, we try really hard to retain people too. Seeing someone get fired is usually a clear sign they ROYALLY screwed up. Like the guy I canned for calling in sick, from the airport, ON SPEAKER PHONE so I could clearly hear the terminal PA system in the background. He hadn't even asked for time off and took a week-long vacation to what turned out to be Cancun. When he got back, we extended his vacation to "permanent".

I've had a couple show up drunk, and one I had to let go because he physically assaulted another member of staff. People ==sh*t.

I see where you’re going with that. Unfortunately, most metrics are created to make workers feel like they’re not operating efficiently enough (in the world I work in). Right, HR lady?
oi. I was a teacher in a past life, so I guess I think if them more as letting the other person know what is expected and what I will be looking for, like kids when they do a project or a presentation, how to check the boxes. But now that I think of it, I will absolutely be sure to let my next real estate agent know I'll need a chickenability score for every property before we even set foot! 😁
