shorts and sandals for mowing, but this man learned his lesson on weed whacking in shorts. Had some bamboo with string from the garden lying on the ground and thought it was a good idea to not move it. Caught the string, snapped the about an inch in diameter bamboo and stabbed my shin deep fracturing the shin, slithers of bamboo deep in the muscle that had to be dug out, then stitches taken out from infection (which hurt like a mfer) hobbling for a year, hurting for a few more all the way to the foot. It is surprising how much force one of these things has.

Long pants might have made it worse, I don't know.
Proper boots Bill

Ouch!

Meant to post this earlier.

Only in the Grottoes.
(I know Y'all think I make this stuff up but I'll take a chance anyway.)
When I was in Cap Haitien in the late '70's I passed a gas station with a donkey at the pump. He had two large fuel cans strapped over his back. Someone explained that they were for a truck up in the mountains and they wasted too much fuel driving down to the coast to get more.
I was only there for a day but it was one the most memorable and educational days of my life.
