Which BYC member scares you?

I have some fake eggs sitting in the nests already. I'm thinking the coop may just not be cool enough for them; the inside gets pretty hot during the daytime. When the temps get above 85 they get an AC put in, but the highest it's reached here this week is 83.

That’s not too hot. In June, we were in the 100s daily for a couple weeks and our chickens just panted and laid in there with it. Lots of fresh water, no a/c.

Not everyone has a sensitivity to red #40. I do, 2 of my boys do, wifey, oldest son, and daughter do not. But it's bad for me and anyone in a 5 mile radius if I get too much of it.

Here it's very rare if it reaches 90, and for a week it was going to be about 100. So after I read a bunch of horror stories on here about losing their chickens to the heat I went online and spent too much $ to ensure their coop would be at least in the 70s by the time they went to bed. They have a waterer, a "foot bath", and a lil red bucket that always has fresh water. They usually turn their beaks up to their waterer and drink out of the footbath, and knock over the bucket because how dare I use their drum for anything other than making noise?
