Ok! Quick question.. is your Orp rooster mean? All pure bred Orp roosters I have come across (and raised) have just been jerks. The ladies are somewhat ok with calm behavior.

You must not have ever had English ones. I've never had an aggressive male. The bantam Orpington is another story.

My Lav boy attacked me once but I realized it was the shoes he was attacking not me so I took them off and threw them away and he went after them, leaving me alone he never attacked again. And I could pick him up and hold him and everything. He ended up dying of unknown causes eventually but I suspect the heat as he was extremely fluffy for an American Orp but yeah.
