Me, too. I really kinda hate it all anymore. Hubby loves it, so I go along and try to be less Grinchy. I'd probably have more fun if I had grandbabies. And also if I didn't have to do everything myself. Hubby does lights, but I do the tree and the house and the gift buying and the wrapping and the cooking and the baking and the Christmas cards.... Blech. Hope I get a gift this year (from someone other than me). I already bought pjs and some books and wrapped them so that I will at least have SOMETHING this year.

haha yeah i’m not even good at that.

when i said this week, i meant within the next 7 days, not this calendar week. probably should’ve worded it better.

my best guess is somewhere between the 12th and 15th. i think she’s coming a week to ten days early.

i can see how that would take the fun out of it, for sure.

we go cut the tree down as a family, and once we get it home, i cut about a 1/2” thick round off the base of the trunk and make an ornament out of it.

my wife loves decorating the house, and does it the day after thanksgiving. she just asks for help getting things up on to the ledge above our front door. so i’m mostly off the hook there

we split shopping duties. she buys for her family and me for mine. then it’s a few little things for each other.

but once we moved, i told her no more lights for me. so now i have someone come do the tree and the lights outside.
