Which chickens would YOU choose?

I have found that birds of a feather DO tend to flock together. I would keep 2 BA and the PBR and SLW. Sounds like you will not be in position to deal with broodies, so IMO, that eliminates the BO.

I think this is ultimately where we're going to land. Mostly because everyone in the family - despite ALL SWEARING that these are MY chickens - has a different favorite.

I know how that is, there always my chickens too, but I have found out I really don't mind, everyone else likes to claim them when the work is done. lol

Well, if it were my choice, I’d keep one of each, as I like a mixed flock. I have all four, and they are all lovely. Best layer for me has Ben the Black Australorp, but she feather picks her flock mate and used to pick on another one (who had since passed, so maybe she picked up on the illness). She’s super friendly with me, though. I’m not sure who tolerates confibement the best. Maybe the Buff Orpington?
