Which day should I start??

I'm a classroom teacher and I need advice! I was planning on starting my eggs Tuesday March 25th. That would put 21 days at April 15th. The problem is, we will be on an all day field trip that day. What would you do? Start them on Monday? Or Wednesday?? Thoughts? The other issue is that our spring break is the following week, April 21-25...

Is starting them on Thursday the 28th an option? That way lockdown isn't falling on a weekend where you'd have to go back up to your classroom to take them out of the turner.

Is starting them later in April too late in the season? I always think of the baby animals being born in March. I thought May might be too late in the season. Do you think this would be ok??

No, April is not late at all. You can hatch chicks all year-round if you want to. It's just easier to brood them during the warmer months when they can go outside earlier.
