Ok I'm thinking about getting some silkies, needs help with which hatchery to get them from and would like to hear from you guys about your silkies and about their size and etc.

Ya I am in the same boat as you...looking for silkies...I want all 6 colors, but don't know where to get them.

I wouldn't recommend any hatchery for silkies. I would try to locate a breeder near you and see what you can find that way. They are dedicated to working on improving the color and conformation of silkies, and you will notice the difference in comparison to hatchery stock.

I see one of you is in NY. There is a breeder up there and I know of another one in Erie PA. Look around, many breeders keep various color breeding pens and enjoy sharing their beautiful birds.

hey Hinkjc I am from NY and who is this breeder you are talking about... do they have a website or do you have there name.

Hey lindamass15 I posted a comment on a silkie photo contest, I think it is on page 2 of the resent post right now. Check it out maybe someone on there will have silkies for sale.

We breed only WHite Show Silkies. I had a thing many years ago when I started the farm to raise only WHite animals....Sheep, Great Pyrenees, Silkies, Angora Goats.etc... that eventually got boring. Right now we have a young flock of colored Silkies will not sell anything form this flock ( eggs or chicks) until 2010, just to better the colors. However my 18 years of White Silies has paid off, our flock is absolutely the beautiful, we are an NPIP certified farm, very clean and well maintained.
Thank you for the compliments, I look forward to sharing my color flock photos with you eventually. I am working on some Top Hats in Red , Lavender, and splash that are really high end!! So much fun!!

what about me?
