Which incubator do I choose?

everyone needs an incubator if you’re going to hatch eggs. I don’t own any chickens currently, and haven’t for 3 years at least. Homing pigeons have become my newest interest. Amazon does have incubators, but some of the reviews say that the temperature spikes up to high, killing the chicks. I need an incubator that doesn’t hold to many eggs. I only want four pigeons. What is the best and safest choice to hatch my eggs?

So you’ve taken the first step! You’ve checked reviews :) In my honest opinion those little cheap incubators are a waste of time, hope and money. I’ve heard good things about brinsea incubators. They come in all sizes but are a bit pricey.
I have a Hovabator but it holds about 42 eggs. My favorite incubator was a small homemade one. Which may fit your needs if you can use some duct tape and a box cutter.

The Brinsea incubators can hold a small number of eggs and seem to be a good option. I still have to do my research about homemade incubators. This was really helpful, thanks.

Here's an idea for a nice digital incubator that wont break the bank (turner not included)
Also the incubator alone will do the trick but you'd wanna get a thermometer and hygrometer to ensure levels are correct:

Incubator

Thermostat

Fan (or get an old computer fan from your computer)

Hygrometer (be sure to calibrate it)

Also if you wanna go real cheap you can use all those same parts minus the incubator and use a styrofoam cooler, light bulb, some wire to set the eggs on, and a water bowl and sponge to act as a wick for humidity.

do the eggs need turning at all in these incubators? I'm pretty busy all day and would probably have time to turn them twice, in the morning and night.
