Which incubator? Recommendations needed!

im about to buy a new incubator but only have a budget of $200- interested to know what you guys would recommend for the money- currently considering a hovabator genesis 1588 or maybe an incuview... thanks in advance!

I would buy a Buff Orpington or a Silkie. They usually good brooders.

Lol I have a few chickens including silkies that will hatch for me but I like to hatch with an incubator too

Make it for less than $20. Check out Rush Lane Poultry. He has some excellent tutorial videos about how to make an incubator. Save your money to do coop and run or garden upgrades, or buy a few fruit trees!

I've used the Hovabator Genesis with the automatic turner multiple times over the past several years and never had any trouble with it. You have to pay attention, read the directions, monitor the water, etc., but if you do your job, it does its job.

Cutler always seems to have the best price for the combination of those two. At least they did when I bought a new one earlier this year. (My previous one got stolen....didn't break....)

Generally we do make a lot of things ourselves like coops and brooders, but never tried making an incubator before...

Have you used both incuview and the hovabator? I believe the incuview holds less eggs... did you find you had better hatch rates with it?

I can’t believe someone stole your incubator! I’m sure the hovabator will be a vast improvement from my starter incubator I got last year- farm innovators pro series- I had to work very hard with that one to try to maintain temps and get humidity up, but never achieved more than around 50-60% hatch rates with it

it’s so easy that even I was able to build one lol I currently have a huge chest cooler that I’m gonna turn into a bator.
